Pushpa Samuel graduated with a biomedical engineering degree and worked for several years in the medical device industry before pursuing an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary. She is a board certified chaplain and works at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she has conversations with patients and family members about finding meaning in their experiences.

The Mar Thoma Church commissioned her as a Lay Chaplain in 2021, and she welcomes opportunities to foster dialogue about the role of faith in daily life through one-on-one consultation, workshops, retreats, and conferences. She and her husband are members of the Trinity Mar Thoma Church, Houston.
